R&D Materials Scientist

Advanta Staff is seeking a talented R&D Materials Scientist to support research on high-strength fibers and composites used in medical, industrial, and protective applications. The successful candidate will conduct laboratory experiments, maintain SOP’s, and manage lab supplies in a collaborative, detail-focused environment.

$65,000 – $85,000 Annual Salary (based on experience)

Monday – Friday 7:00am – 4:00pm (Potential OT if necessary)

• Perform routine and novel experiments using equipment such as Instron systems, DMA, and abrasion testers.
• Analyze data, prepare reports, and present findings to engineers, management, and external customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development.
• Manage laboratory inventory, order supplies, and coordinate equipment calibrations.
• Create, update, and maintain SOP’s and other laboratory documentation.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, material science, chemistry, or related field. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Laboratory experience is preferred, especially with fiber or composite materials.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and troubleshooting ability.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

• Ability to lift 35 pounds.
• Ability to bend, twist, stand, and reach repetitively without assistance.
• Vision requirements include clear sight at multiple distances, color recognition, and peripheral/depth perception.
• Candidates may be required to pass a drug test and criminal background check based on job location/requirements.
