Help shape the future of rail by producing precision cup-and-cone components at Amsted Rail Petersburg. If you thrive in a fast-moving, automated environment and take pride in accuracy, this role is for you.
Your core responsibilities
Comply with all safety, ergonomics, and environmental practices (Amsted Rail Health & Safety program)
Gauge and verify part dimensions to spec per the departmental quality plan Inspect work for defects; ensure continuous conformance
Support changeovers with Setup personnel; swap attachments for different lines/cells
Safely operate hand/power tools; use hoists/cranes to position heavy components
Keep transfer conveyors running smoothly; address jams or misfeeds
Detect abnormal sounds/vibration and correct by adjusting machine settings
Modify parameters in manual/automatic modes to maintain part quality
Document production data in the company system
Maintain awareness of process sequences and finished dimensions
Department-specific tasks
Load the appropriate program into machine control units to initiate runs Execute preventive maintenance to avoid unplanned downtime
Troubleshoot part compliance and equipment issues
Replace worn grinding wheels safely and efficiently
Operate a forklift to stage part bins ahead of processing
Monitor gantry devices and coordinate with load/unload robots
What you bring
Successfully pass a pre-employment drug & background screening
Ability to lift, push, and pull 10–50 lbs Comfort wearing employer-provided PPEAbility to stand and move throughout the department for the full shift
Mechanical aptitude; industrial manufacturing experience is a plus Rewards and benefits
