Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing Interventional Radiology and Vascular Surgery practice. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced interventional radiologists and vascular surgeons in a dynamic, procedure-focused environment with a strong emphasis on patient-centered care. This role offers a balanced mix of clinic, peri-procedural management, and hands-on procedural experience, making it ideal for an APP looking to expand their skillset and autonomy.

The PA/NP will initially focus on clinical visits, building a strong foundation in vascular anatomy, physiology, and disease processes. Through hands-on training with a lead APP and supervising physician, you will gain experience in interpreting vascular ultrasounds and assessing stages of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and venous insufficiency to guide appropriate therapeutic interventions. As clinical proficiency is established, the role will transition to include performing venous procedures, supporting the development of a well-rounded, procedure-oriented clinical skill set.

This position will require traveling between our locations in the Richmond region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive outpatient clinical visits for patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD), venous insufficiency, embolizations, and various vascular consults.
  • Perform pre- and post-procedure evaluations and follow-ups.
  • Learn to interpret vascular ultrasound studies and integrate imaging findings into clinical decision-making.
  • Develop a strong foundation in vascular anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
  • Collaborate closely with the supervising physician, lead APP, ultrasound technicians, and OBL staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
  • Perform venous procedures independently (training available for clinically strong candidates; prior procedural experience preferred), including: sclerotherapy.
  • Radio frequency ablation, and Venaseal.
  • Provide patient education and compassionate guidance on disease management and treatment options.
  • Maintain high standards of patient safety, documentation accuracy, and care coordination.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program.
  • Board-certified and licensed to practice in Virginia.
  • Strong interest in interventional radiology, including vascular anatomy, physiology, and the treatment of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and venous insufficiency.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of procedural experience preferred (experience in Interventional Radiology, Vascular Surgery, Critical Care, or Emergency Medicine highly desirable).
  • Comfortable with ultrasound-guided procedures and maintaining sterile technique.
  • Strong clinical judgment with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and commitment to providing high-quality patient care and education.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in Interventional Radiology or Endovascular procedures.
  • Familiarity with outpatient-based lab (OBL) or ambulatory surgery center workflows.
  • Experience with vein procedures and PAD management.
