Job SummaryThe RN Clinical Float Pool assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established standards. The primary function is to be available and flexible to float to various departments and sites across the organization, supporting scheduling, multiple assignments per shift, travel assignments and seasonal staffing. The RN works with a clinical manager or designee and follows the Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse.
EssentialFunctions
- Float within a single site (Tier
1), multiple sites in a single market (Tier
2) or across multiple markets (Tier
3), based on competency. - Support departmental and operating unit goals through continuous quality improvement activities.
- Act as patient safety advocate by participating in quality improvement.
- Integrate the professional practice model into care delivery.
- Plan and coordinate nursing care using evidence‑based practice.
- Formulate and implement a plan of care for each patient, including interventions, evaluation of response and documentation.

Education- Associate’s of Nursing (required)
- Bachelor’s of Nursing (BSN) (preferred)
- Current nursing license in the designated state of employment (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS – AHA) – required based on specialty assignment
- 1 year of experience as an RN in acute care (required)
- Medical equipment knowledge
- Proficient in clinical skills
- Principles and practices of professional nursing

- Proficiency in using computerized tools
