Important Schedule & Travel Requirements
This is a night-shift position.
The typical work schedule is four 10-hour shifts per week, approximately 8:30 PM-6:30 AM starting on either Sunday or Monday night

This position also requires regular overnight travel. Some projects may be located 3-4 hours away from our Petersburg office
, and technicians should expect to stay out of town during the four-day workweek when required.
Travel time is paid, and per diem is provided for qualifying out-of-town work.
Applicants should only apply if they are comfortable working nights and regularly staying out of town during the workweek.
About the PositionTechwise Integrated Security is looking for dependable individuals interested in starting or growing a career in commercial security systems installation.
Previous low-voltage or security-system experience is not required.
You will work alongside experienced technicians installing systems such as:
CCTV and video surveillance
Access control
Burglar and intrusion alarm systems
Fire alarm systems
Structured cabling and related low-voltage systems
This is a hands-on field position. You will learn the trade by working directly with experienced technicians on active commercial job sites.
This is a security systems installation position, not a traditional electrician position

Work with Lead Technicians and other crew members on commercial installation projects
Pull and route low-voltage cable
Install cable supports, pathway hardware, and related materials
Assist with mounting cameras, keypads, alarm devices, and other equipment
Assist with installing and wiring security and life-safety devices
Use ladders and scissor lifts to perform overhead work
Use drills, hand tools, fish tape, glow rods, and other installation tools
Label and organize cabling and equipment
Learn how to terminate and test low-voltage cabling
Learn how to read floor plans, drawings, and installation documentation
Help keep tools, materials, and job sites organized
Follow direction from Lead Technicians and Project Managers
Assist with troubleshooting and testing installed systems
Develop the skills needed to eventually work more independently
We are primarily looking for someone who is:
Dependable and consistently shows up on time
Willing to learn
Comfortable performing physical, hands-on work
Able to follow instructions
Able to work well as part of a small crew
Comfortable using or learning to use hand and power tools
Willing to ask questions and learn from experienced technicians
Interested in developing a long-term skilled trade career
No previous low-voltage experience required
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Ability to work 8:30 PM-6:30 AM night shifts
Ability to travel and stay out of town for multiple nights during the workweek starting on Sunday or Monday night.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work from ladders and scissor lifts
Ability to perform overhead and physical work throughout the shift
Ability to pass required background checks
Willingness to obtain required Virginia DCJS registration if not already registered
Willing to share a hotel room with another technician.
Previous experience in construction, electrical work, telecommunications, security systems, cable installation, maintenance, mechanical work, or another skilled trade is helpful but not required

This position is intended to be more than an entry-level labor position.
Technicians who develop their installation, troubleshooting, and leadership skills can take on increasingly independent work and advance into higher-level technician and Lead Technician positions.
We want to develop employees who can eventually understand a project, solve problems in the field, and take ownership of their work.
Starting pay is $18.00-$23.00 per hour, with significant potential for growth as your skills, experience, and responsibilities increase.
