Deputy Clerk

The City of Petoskey has a position within its Office of City Clerk for a full-time Deputy Clerk. This employment opening offers a special opportunity for a person who has strong administrative support, election administrative and computer skills, enjoys working with the general public, excellent verbal and written communication abilities dealing with customers in person and over the phone and has an interest in a multi-disciplined office position within City operations.

In addition to the public, this position also works closely with other City Department staff, elected and appointed officials.

The Deputy Clerk position will provide staff support to the Office of City Clerk and Office of the City Manager. The position will assist the City Clerk with all aspects of departmental duties, maintenance of voter registration records, election administration and administrative support for City staff, City Council and various boards and commissions. The Deputy Clerk will also be responsible for preparation of agendas and minutes, maintaining records, assisting with Freedom of Information (FOIA) requests, licensing and maintaining software/database systems.

The position will also provide assistance to the Parks and Recreation Department, Office of the City Planner and all other duties as may be assigned.
