Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:30 PM

Shift Duration:  12-hour day shifts

Call:  24-hour weekend call (no weekday night call)

Setting:  Hospital-based Gastroenterology / Endoscopy

Patient Volume:  Approx. 18 outpatients and 20 inpatient scopes per day

EMR:  Cerner

Team Support:  2 physicians, 2 APPs; onsite lab and X-ray

Gastroenterology Physician Requirements

Board Certification:  Required (Board Eligible considered)

Licensure:  Active Michigan medical license required at submission

DEA:  Verbal confirmation required at name clear

ACLS:  Required

Experience:

Minimum 2–3 years post-fellowship gastroenterology experience

Procedure Requirement:  ERCP required

Credentialing:  Clean background with no actions required (minimum malpractice acceptable)

Additional:  COVID vaccine required

Responsibilities

Provide hospital-based gastroenterology coverage, including endoscopy and inpatient GI consults during scheduled hours (7:00 AM–4:30 PM)

Perform GI procedures with a strong emphasis on ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)

Support endoscopy coverage for a high-volume schedule (outpatient and inpatient scopes as needed)

Provide 24-hour weekend call coverage (weekends only; no weeknight call)

Document care in Cerner EMR

Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nursing, and ancillary services to support daily operations and patient flow
