Position: Student Employee Early Learning Center - North Central Michigan College
Job Description:

Schedule:

Up to 20 hours per week

Rate of Pay: $12.50 per hour

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The ELC student employee will assist teachers in the Reggio Emilia-inspired infant and toddler classroom by providing direct care to children and supporting teaching staff.

DUTIES:

* Co-explore the learning experience with children

* Provoke ideas and problem-solving

* Help children express their knowledge in visible ways

* Foster the connection between home, school and community

* Provide appropriate care and supervision at all times

* Act in a manner that is conducive to the welfare of children

* Support the mission of the Early Learning Center: "To partner with children, families, and the community in providing a Reggio Emilia-inspired early education experience that nurtures curiosity, independence, and holistic development. We prioritize every child's intellectual, social, emotional, and physical well-being in a secure and inclusive setting."

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

* Must be a current student at NCMC

* Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours for Fall/Winter semesters and 3 credit hours for the summer semester.

* Willingness to learn

* ELC Student Workers must meet all Michigan Child Care Licensing Requirements as an unsupervised childcare staff member.

* Experience in Early Childhood Education

* Familiarity with Michigan childcare licensing

* Collaborative spirit

* Creativity and flexibility

* Strong communication skills
