Job Description:
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The library student employee helps with day-to-day library tasks including shelving, processing books and periodicals, delivering technology to classrooms, assisting patrons, and staffing the Circulation Desk.
$13.75 per hour
DUTIES:
* Check out and check in books and other library materials.
* Process holds, renewals, study room requests, and other patron requests.
* Answer basic informational, directional, and library policy questions both in person and over the phone.
* Help patrons with basic computer issues, printing, and document scanning.
* Deliver technology to and from different sites on campus and follow established procedures for delivery and care of library technology
* Process and shelve books, magazines, and other library materials.
* Shelf read and follow established library cleaning and organization policies.
* Other related duties as assigned.
DESIRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Basic computer knowledge.
* Phone etiquette experience.
* Organizational skills and an eye for detail.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Student Employees must meet guidelines as set by North Central Michigan College in the Student Employee Definition and follow policies and procedures of the College.
Student Employees must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at NCMC.
