Student Employee Reading Tutor

Position: Student Employee Reading Tutor - North Central Michigan College
Job Description:

Hourly wage: $14.00 per hour

Max hours:
Up to 20 hours per week

Reading tutors are supervised by elementary school professional staff.

The Work Study student's primary responsibility involves assisting elementary school children with the development of their reading skills.

Activities supporting the development of skills may involve:

* Oral reading

* Spelling

* Phonics

* Pronunciation

* Individual or group activities

* Word/picture matching

* Other reading development activities as deemed appropriate by the tutor's supervisor

Requirements:

Individuals must be currently enrolled in 6 credit hours during Fall or Winter, or 3 credit hours during Summer to be eligible for student employment.
