- Assess patients and develop individualized, evidence-based written plans of care using the Clinical Practice Model (CPM)
- Implement and evaluate care plans to promote safe, high-quality patient outcomes in a fast-paced Med-Surg environment
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and the interdisciplinary team using SBAR and other best practices
- Deliver patient education and use clinical pathways to support recovery and discharge planning
- Serve as a clinical resource and role model — share knowledge and contribute to a positive team culture
- Demonstrate strong time management and assist teammates to maintain unit productivity and safety
- Participate in Unit Based Council (shared governance) activities to improve practice and the work environment
- Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license required (LARA/Nursys verification requested)
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- Minimum 2+ years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience — required
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Skills checklist for RN specialties completed within one year of application
- Ability to comply with facility profile standards and any required documentation
- Good attendance and reliability — note the facility has a strict attendance policy
- Solid Med-Surg clinical expertise including patient assessment and care planning
- Experience with vascular, bariatric, plastic surgery, trauma, and stroke patient populations
- Proficiency with SBAR and interdisciplinary communication
- Familiarity with Clinical Practice Model (CPM) and evidence-based nursing practice
- Patient education, clinical pathway implementation, and discharge coordination
- Leadership, teamwork, and participation in shared governance / unit-based council
- Strong time management and ability to work in a fast-paced, learning-focused unit
