Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg travel position in Petoskey, MI, requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg experience and an active Michigan RN license.
Responsibilities- 28-bed Medical Surgical unit in an acute care hospital setting
- Diverse patient population including general surgery, vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, and stroke patients
- Fast-paced environment with a strong emphasis on patient safety and evidence-based, patient-centered care
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- 13-week contract
- Collaborates with an interdisciplinary care team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans using the Clinical Practice Model (CPM) and Caring-Quality Model
- Uses clinical pathways, patient education, and SBAR communication to guide all aspects of patient care
- Active Unit Based Council (Shared Governance) promotes a collaborative, team-oriented work environment
- New team members receive structured orientation and ongoing support
- Strict attendance policy in effect: three instances of an unexcused absence or arriving more than 20 minutes late to a scheduled shift may result in immediate termination
- No more than 5 days of RTO may be requested during the contract
- References are not required for this position
- Active Michigan RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Skills checklist completed within the past year required for consideration
- Full-time McLaren Health System employees are not eligible for this position within six months of employment
