Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg travel position in Petoskey, MI, requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg experience and an active Michigan RN license.

Job Details

• 28-bed Medical Surgical unit in an acute care hospital setting,

• Diverse patient population including general surgery, vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, and stroke patients,

• Fast-paced environment with a strong emphasis on patient safety and evidence-based, patient-centered care,

• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week,

• Every other weekend required,

• No on-call requirements,

• 13-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required,

• Current BLS certification (AHA),

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required,

• Travel nursing experience preferred,

• Skills checklist completed within the past year required for consideration,

• Full-time McLaren Health System employees are not eligible for this position within six months of employment,

• Collaborates with an interdisciplinary care team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans using the Clinical Practice Model (CPM) and Caring-Quality Model,

• Uses clinical pathways, patient education, and SBAR communication to guide all aspects of patient care,

• Active Unit Based Council (Shared Governance) promotes a collaborative, team-oriented work environment,

• New team members receive structured orientation and ongoing support,

• Strict attendance policy in effect: three instances of an unexcused absence or arriving more than 20 minutes late to a scheduled shift may result in immediate termination,

• No more than 5 days of RTO may be requested during the contract,
