Registered Nurse - Level 3 Medical-Surgical Unit Job Description

The Registered Nurse on our Level 3 Medical-Surgical Unit cares for a diverse patient population consisting of complex medical conditions and co-morbidities including infectious diseases, oncology, behavioral health, hospice, and end-of-life care. This 26-bed unit operates in a fast-paced environment that may present challenges for both graduate and experienced nurses. Level 3 is also pioneering a new Virtual Nursing staffing model which enhances patient care by allowing RNs to spend more time at the bedside and reducing documentation time.

• Collaborate with health care team members to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on comprehensive assessments.
• Utilize the Clinical Practice Model (CPM) and the Caring-Quality Model to align care with patient and family needs.
• Commit to lifelong learning through professional development, certification, and literature review.
• Demonstrate leadership as a clinical resource and professional role model.
• Facilitate effective communication among colleagues through collegial relationships, SBAR, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Enhance time management skills to support team performance and assist colleagues as needed.

This position is full-time, scheduled from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM ), totaling 40 hours per week.

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in Endoscopy (required).
• Current BLS certification (AHA).
• Active RN license in the state of Michigan.
