Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical Unit Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse for a fast‑paced 28‑bed Med Surg unit caring for a diverse patient population including general surgery, vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, and stroke patients.

This unit emphasizes patient‑centered, evidence‑based, and holistic care within a collaborative interdisciplinary environment focused on positive patient outcomes and professional nursing growth.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care.

• Utilize strong time management and teamwork skills to support unit performance.

• Minimum 2 years of recent straight Medical Surgical RN experience required.
• Float pool, SDU, and Telemetry‑only experience will not qualify.
• Level I or Level II Trauma experience required.
• Travel nursing experience preferred.
• Active Michigan RN License required at time of submission.
• BLS (AHA) certification required.

• Skills checklist completed within 1 year required.
• Michigan license verification required.
• If license history contains disciplinary action, provider explanation is recommended for manager review.
