Cardiovascular Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift
This is a 12-hour night shift position from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Job DescriptionThe Cardiovascular Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. The RN is a critical member of the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU), which cares for a high volume of cardiology patients annually. The unit specializes in procedures such as PTCA, stents, TAVR, Mitra Clip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers. Care is provided to approximately 300 open heart surgery patients and those with congestive heart failure and electrophysiology studies.
Responsibilities- Assess and monitor patient conditions in the Cardiovascular Unit.
- Administer medication and execute treatment plans.
- Provide support and education to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Stepdown Unit.
- Proficiency in Cardiac care.
- Comfortability with EKG interpretation.
- Must hold a valid Michigan RN license; LARA and Nursys verification required.
- ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
