Cardiovascular Registered Nurse
The Cardiovascular Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care within the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU), utilizing clinical judgment to assess, diagnose, and treat patients with various cardiac conditions. This role involves working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment focused on delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care for complex cardiovascular cases.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patient responses to treatments and diagnose health conditions based on clinical data.
- Administer medications and perform procedures including PTCA, stents, TAVR, Mitra Clip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers.
- Monitor patients post-open heart surgery (18-24 hours post-op) and facilitate their discharge process.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Adhere to hospital policies, including a strict attendance policy and floating to similar units as needed.
- Maintain proficiency in EKG interpretation and respond promptly to emergent situations.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid State License in Michigan.
- Possess 1+ year of Stepdown experience in a cardiac or cardiovascular setting.
- Demonstrate proficiency in cardiac care and EKG interpretation.
- Willing to travel and float to related units with similar patient populations.
- Complete a skills checklist within one year of application for RN specialties.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required at the time of employment.
