Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Hardscape Installation Technician to join our landscape team. This position focuses on the expert installation of boulders, stone features, and retaining walls. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with natural stone, block wall systems, grade changes, and demonstrates a strong understanding of structural integrity and design aesthetics of outdoor spaces.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Construct boulder walls, natural stone features, and manufactured block retaining walls according to design plans and safety standards.
  • Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and layout designs for hardscape projects.
  • Operate skid steers, excavators, compactors, and other machinery relevant to grading and stone installation.
  • Ensure proper base preparation, drainage, and structural stability of all stonework.
  • Collaborate with project managers and team members to ensure timelines, quality standards, and client expectations are met.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment and comply with company safety policies.
Job Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in hardscape installation, with emphasis on boulder work and retaining wall systems (e.g., Versa-Lok, Belgard, Unilock)
  • Strong knowledge of drainage systems, base materials, and construction best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and lead small crews on-site when needed.
  • Proficient in the use of compact equipment and hand tools required for hardscape construction.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, bending, and standing for long periods in outdoor conditions.
