Director of Continuous Improvement & Business Transformation

Leads enterprise‑wide continuous improvement and business transformation initiatives to drive operational excellence, scalability, and profitable growth. This role evolves traditional continuous improvement beyond distribution into a cross‑functional transformation engine spanning supply chain, commercial operations, and enabling systems. The director leads a small but high‑impact team and partners with executive leadership to translate strategy into execution through structured problem‑solving, performance management, and digital enablement.
EssentialJob Duties / Expectations
- Design and deploy a standardized continuous improvement (CI) framework (Hoshin Kanri, Lean, Six Sigma, A3, Kaizen) building on existing capabilities.
- Scale visual daily management (VDM), KPI dashboards, and operating rhythms across the enterprise.
- Facilitate enterprise‑level Kaizen events for processes that have a cross‑functional impact on eliminating waste, reducing cycle time, and improving the business.
- Complete strategic projects and continuous improvement events in alignment with the strategic deployment plan (SD).
- Develop and implement a training strategy that optimizes lean processes, practices, policies, standards, and metrics that meet or exceed company business objectives.
- Work cross‑functionally with the business leaders of all facilities to identify organizational needs; train and coach employees on lean and continuous improvement methods.
- Plan and execute the success of Hoshin Kanri, policy deployment projects, and Kaizen workshops through relentless follow‑up.
- Develop and manage transformation roadmaps with clear milestones, ownership, and financial impact.
- Foster a culture of accountability, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business‑related discipline (equivalent education and experience may be considered).
- 10+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, or business transformation.
- Proficiency in change management methodologies to overcome people’s resistance to change.
- Proficiency in analyzing data to drive action.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in continuous improvement methodologies such as Hoshin Kanri, Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and DMAIC.
- Strong working knowledge in statistical process control, error‑proofing, value‑stream mapping, visual management techniques, and failure‑mode and effects analysis.
