Dental Care of Pewaukee is looking for a Dental Assistant to join our team.

Overview

We are seeking a motivated, patient‑focused Dental Assistant who enjoys working in a fast‑paced, energetic, and goal‑oriented office environment. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of Dental Assistant experience, but we are open to considering new graduates eager to learn and grow with the team.

Tuesday – Friday

Compensation

$20.00–$25.00/hour, based on experience

Role Summary
  • Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, sustain patient comfort, and provide appropriate education throughout treatment.
  • Conduct a thorough review of the patient’s health history in order to provide quality care.
  • Take and process x‑rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3‑D scanner, digital photography, etc.).
  • Provide superior chairside assistance (four‑handed dentistry) to supported dentists during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act.
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
  • Prepare the treatment room with strict adherence to safety protocols and following OSHA & CDC recommendations.
  • Manage supply and inventory levels and place and expedite orders as needed.
  • Partner with the providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced and customer‑centric environment.
  • Required dental assistant certification and/or x‑ray certification under the state dental practice act, if applicable.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Access to minimum PHI necessary for performing job‑related functions; regular HIPAA training will be required.
Preferred Experience
  • 1+ years of experience in a dental setting.
  • Experience with Dentrix or other dental software.
  • Dental assisting school certification.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Prolonged periods sitting and standing.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times.
  • Availability to attend virtual or in‑person training sessions periodically throughout the year.
  • Requirement for a tuberculosis (TB) test for all new hires in dental office positions, with exceptions noted for state of FL & TN.
