Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned major project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the client’s needs. Provides architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects. Independently apply advanced architectural concepts and designs. Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
May provide technical guidance to less experienced architectural staff.
- The Architect Staff Level II will work in a team under the direction of a Senior Project Architect and may serve as the design leader on smaller projects.
- In conjunction with the Senior Project Architect, consult with client to determine requirements of the project, develop studies or reports and propose solutions.
- Works with the project team and contributes to the development of design concepts for design projects of all types and scales.
- Implements the building program and prepares project documentation appropriate for each phase.
- Prepares presentation materials to communicate design ideas to the client, including meeting agendas and minutes.
- Research manufacturers’ materials and systems.
- Understands the technical implications of design decisions and contributes to the development and documentation of details.
- Represents the firm well in project meetings and industry events and begins to build a professional network of clients, consultants, and peers.
- Contribute to the development of design concepts for design projects of all types and scales.
- Utilize freehand sketching, computer, and graphic resources to effectively analyze and convey design concepts or solutions.
- Review and coordinate consultant work.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with the contract documents.
- Maintain ongoing utilization of office standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture.
- License is a plus but not required.
- 6+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Drive project document development based on in-depth understanding and analysis of the design concept, project type, client, code and technical requirements and construction details.
- Understanding land use regulations and ability to perform zoning code studies.
- Working collaboratively with small fast paced teams.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit.
- Proficiency in Enscape or another rendering software, Auto Cad, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam and Microsoft software.
- Strong communication, organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
