Assist with the supervision and teaching of children ages six weeks to ten years with daily care routines and implementation of age‑appropriate lessons and activities aligned with best practice, state licensing rules, and regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities- Assist in the planning, supervision, and implementation of age‑appropriate activities aligned with Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards and NAEYC accreditation standards for the afternoon program during the academic school year and full day during the summer months.
- Model ethical and appropriate best practices as an early childhood professional for children, families, and ECE students.
- Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and mandated state licensing regulations, including proper storage of materials and sanitation of classroom equipment.
- Document, initiate, and maintain communication with parents about children’s progress as directed by the Lead Teacher.
- Maintain current professional and technical knowledge in the field through professional education and activities.
- Working knowledge of theories and principles of childhood growth and development from birth through ten years of age.
- Knowledge of child behavior.
- Knowledge of first aid, safety, sanitation, and nutrition pertaining to early childhood education standards of best practice.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, parents, and other staff.
- Ability to plan and organize own work and creative activities for children.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills in speaking, writing, and listening.
The Assistant Teacher position supports the Child Development Center and can start on or before August 3rd.
