Grade 2 Teacher Opportunity:
Answer the Call for Fall 2026

Prairie Hill Waldorf School | Lake Country, Wisconsin

“The children themselves are this book.” – Rudolf Steiner

Prairie Hill Waldorf School, an established, thriving, and fully AWSNA-accredited institution, seeks a dedicated, warm, and collaborative Grade Teacher to join our faculty beginning in Fall of 2026.

We are looking for the right candidate to nurture the love of learning in up to 25 active, inquisitive children. This is an urgent invitation to join a value‑driven community committed to fostering curiosity, compassion, and lifelong learning.

Your Role and Our Mission

You will be stepping into an established classroom, offering a rich Waldorf curriculum that nurtures the whole child—head, heart, and hands—through academics, art, and nature.

As an integral part of our faculty and school governance, you will work collaboratively within the Grades department. We seek a teacher who is joyful and warm, with strong interpersonal communication skills, effective classroom management, and enthusiasm for teaching and learning.

Professional Support & Compensation
  • Competitive Compensation:
Salary is dependent on teaching experience and education.
  • Benefits Package:
Includes dental insurance, 401(k) matching, tuition remission, free childcare, and summer camp discounts.
  • Mentorship:
Includes paid Waldorf teacher training and on‑site mentoring.
  • Work‑Life Balance:
Ample prep and meeting times are provided throughout the workday.
  • Community:
Join supportive, enthusiastic colleagues and a vibrant parent community.
  • Campus:
Our campus is situated on fourteen acres of land, including gardens, fields, wetlands, and small woods, offering a healthy, beautiful, and sustainable environment.
Essential Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Prior teaching experience or experience in teaching a grades class.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • A Waldorf certificate or degree is preferred but not necessary; willingness to participate in Waldorf training is essential.
Commitment to Equity & Justice

We encourage individuals who are committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice‑related work in Waldorf and other settings. We especially encourage those who are part of marginalized groups that have been historically excluded from positions of power to apply.
