Production Control Specialist –

We are looking for a Production Control Specialist, responsible for purchasing, job planning, inventory control, and supporting production activities.

Responsibilities
  • Purchase routine raw materials, semi‑finished goods, finished parts, supplies and/or equipment ensuring all quality, delivery and specification requirements are met at lowest possible cost.
  • Process approved purchase requisitions – maintain and update active orders.
  • Build relationships with vendors to reduce lead times, ensure on‑time delivery and initiate cost savings programs.
  • Gather quotes from vendors/suppliers on requested parts, equipment and/or supplies.
  • Assist the Production Manager in measuring and reporting cost increases, reductions, and avoidances.
  • Assist in evaluating and proposing alternative sources, materials, and processes aimed at improving standardization, cost, productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Assist in job planning and scheduling label production work orders utilizing Syteline ERP.
  • Interface with manufacturing, engineering, and customer service on material status, production planning, and scheduling issues.
  • Analyze sales order releases for material requirements; notify manager of any shortages.
  • Conduct cycle‑counts to maintain accurate inventory.
  • Complete jobs in Syteline ERP, review material utilized, and verify inventory.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects that reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Work with accounting to reconcile purchase orders and invoices.
  • Provide administrative assistance as needed (scheduling meetings, answering phones, clerical work, monitor inventory, order office supplies).
  • Perform additional duties as directed by management.
Qualifications
  • Two or more years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of PCs and MS Office; ERP experience preferred.
  • Self‑motivated and able to work in a team environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
