Position
Conduct materials sampling and testing with precision, integrity, expediency, and in a safe manner. All tasks performed must align with the Walbec Group Quality Management System requirements, Walbec Group policies, standard operating procedures, ethical standards, the Quality Control Technician Manual, and relevant agency specifications, regulations, policies, methods, and procedures.
Responsibilities- Perform sampling and standardized testing according to AASHTO, ASTM, and/or customer specifications.
- Strictly adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all tasks.
- Attain basic understanding of binder grading system.
- Complete accurate standard mathematical computations per the testing procedure(s).
- Input data into Laboratory Information Management system (LIMS).
- Accurately communicate and document test results to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Document all sampling, testing, and subsequent actions taken.
- Analyze test outcomes and assist in making necessary process control adjustments.
- Ensure equipment functionality and timely calibrations as per schedule.
- Oversee regular equipment maintenance and ensure malfunctioning equipment is marked out of service.
- Uphold a professional standard of cleanliness and maintenance for all equipment and facilities.
- Engage professionally with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Value safety and ethics in all tasks.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; team oriented.
- Ability to multitask and work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Capacity to frequently lift weights between 50-70 pounds.
- Physical capability to conduct required tests both in lab and on site.
- Adherence to company safety guidelines.
- Ability to obtain certification(s) necessary to test asphalt binder in an AASHTO accredited laboratory.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical degree in an engineering or science discipline.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to travel locally and regionally as needed.
