Sales Representative (Flooring) - MSI

Location:

Pewaukee, WI.

Summary: The sales representative is responsible to grow and develop the sales and margins of MSI’s Tile product lines with the retailer/dealer network; located within an assigned geographic territory.

Work Hours: Monday to Friday from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM, 1 Saturday(s) a month from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Establish and foster strong relationships with existing and prospective customers within designated territories, focusing on retailer and dealer networks, to drive sales and promote our flooring and counter top products.
  • Provide product knowledge and training to store personnel, enabling them to effectively present products and negotiate with consumers.
  • Understand the company's products, market competition, and strategies to position products advantageously.
  • Manage displays, samples, and selling tools for customer availability.
  • Consult with dealers on retail pricing, advertising, promotions, and ROI, leveraging understanding of retail business financials.
  • Quote prices, discuss credit terms and prepare sales contracts for customer orders.
  • Estimate delivery dates for customers based on the company's delivery schedules.
  • Analyze sales reports to identify opportunities with current and potential customers.
  • Utilize marketing tools such as catalogs, brochures, and vendor collateral to expand territory reach and promote company products.
  • Research and analyze customer needs and demands on the basis of market trends.
  • Resolve customer claims/problems related to deliveries, returns, and credits.
  • Attend trade shows throughout the year as required.
  • Travel 40% - 80% locally, occasionally nationally and/or internationally.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Two (2) plus years’ experience in channel distribution sales.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related industry experience; natural stone, slab or hard flooring industries.
  • Strong math skills for calculations related to discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, and volume.
  • Ability to provide effective solutions for customers.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence and motivation to work toward targets.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well alone or within a team.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving aptitude.
  • Resilience to deal with customers who turn you down.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and communicate verbally. Frequently sits and may occasionally stand or walk.
  • Occasionally lifts, pulls and moves up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
