Outside Sales, Sales Representative, Account Manager
Position Summary
The primary function of the Outside Sales position is to be responsible for all sales activities from lead generation through close in an assigned territory. This person will develop and implement the agreed upon Company Marketing Plan, work toward customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long‑term account goals in line with branch vision and values, and pursue personal business goals.
Duties & Responsibilities- Responsible for all steps of the sales process, including preparing action plans by accounts and product line.
- Effective search and follow-through of sales leads and new customers.
- Identify and execute on opportunities for up‑sell and cross‑sell.
- Establish rapport with customers to build long‑term, repeat relationships.
- Provide timely and accurate competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity, sales and pricing.
- Gather competitive market and pricing information.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to self‑manage; experience in supplier relationship management.
- Knowledge of building materials and construction industry (strongly preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience with Excel preferred.
- 3–5 years of sales experience preferred.

Physical RequirementsMust be able to remain in a stationary position in an office environment 70% of the time, occasionally move about inside the office to access files and office machinery, and communicate with team and management.
Required Cognitive SkillsProblem solve, prioritize tasks, manage stress depending on deadlines, multitask, analyze sales and financial information, communicate solutions quickly, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.
