Description

  • Independently programs and debugs robot cells/subsystems.
  • Troubleshoots alarms and integration issues with minimal oversight.
  • Collaborates effectively with engineers and other technicians.
  • Provides guidance to Robotics Specialist I staff.
  • Completes documentation accurately and consistently.
  • Independently performs mechanical assembly and electrical wiring tasks including panel wiring, cable management, and component installation to drawing specifications; diagnoses and resolves mechanical and electrical issues with minimal supervision and understands the interaction between robot hardware, tooling, and the broader automation system.
  • Supports the service department by independently diagnosing and resolving common robot faults on-site, performing field PM services (axis greasing, battery replacement, brake checks, cable inspection), and providing remote troubleshooting guidance to customers; identifies and documents early signs of wear for proactive repair planning.
Requirements
  • 2–5 years of hands‑on robotics experience.
  • Associate degree or technical diploma in robotics, mechatronics, or automation preferred.
  • Proficient in robot programming basics (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, or similar).

  • Regularly works in a manufacturing/shop environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, and moderate noise levels.
  • May be required to travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning, or service support, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands to handle tools, controls, and equipment; occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Summary

The Robotics Specialist II is an independent contributor responsible for robot programming, subsystem integration, and troubleshooting. This role teaches points, configures tooling, and integrates robots with PLCs and safety systems while supporting FAT and SAT activities.
