This role is crucial in providing peer‑to‑peer support, assisting individuals through shared understanding, respect, and mutual empowerment. As a representative of WISCS.org, you will embody our mission to enhance public welfare and social justice by offering support and advocacy to individuals navigating the complexities of the legal and healthcare systems.

• Provide emotional support and mentorship to peers in navigating social, legal, and health‑related services
• Assist peers in developing effective strategies for personal and community advocacy
• Help facilitate connections to community resources, including legal, health, and housing services
• Conduct regular follow‑ups to assess progress and re‑evaluate the needs of peers
• Maintain comprehensive and confidential records of interactions with peers
• Participate in ongoing training and development sessions to stay updated on best practices in peer support and social services
• Advocate for the rights and needs of peers within the courthouse and broader legal system

• Strong interpersonal and communicative skills
• Ability to motivate and empower others
• Experience in handling sensitive information discreetly
• Knowledge of community resources and legal rights in healthcare
• Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and calm
• Certification as a Peer Support Specialist is required
