Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate commercial vehicles, including dump trucks, flatbeds, lowboys, and trailers, to transport materials and equipment.
  • Load, unload, and secure materials and equipment using proper procedures to prevent damage, shifting, or injury.
  • Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation and compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records, mileage logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
  • Follow assigned schedules, routes, and instructions from supervisors and dispatch personnel.
  • Secure loads using chains, binders, straps, tarps, and other approved methods.
  • Comply with all company safety policies as well as federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
  • Assist construction crews with general labor duties, including material handling, site preparation, excavation support, grading, cleanup, and other project‑related tasks.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment as needed to support daily construction activities.
  • Help load, unload, stage, and organize materials, equipment, and supplies at job sites and company facilities.
  • Support crew members in completing projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, vehicle, and job site.
  • Report vehicle maintenance issues, delays, accidents, or safety concerns promptly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Valid Class A or B CDL (depending on vehicle type)
  • Clean driving record and current DOT medical card
  • 2+ years of commercial driving experience preferred
  • Experience hauling construction materials or equipment is a plus
  • Familiarity with load securement, tie‑down procedures, and safe operating practices
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and assist with loading/unloading when required
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed
