Cost Accountant

Rosendin is a leading employee‑owned electrical contractor committed to fostering a culture of integrity, diversity, and shared ownership. We are seeking a Cost Accountant to provide comprehensive financial services to our construction projects.

The Cost Accountant is responsible for managing project accounting, including contract review, billings, work‑in‑place reporting, subcontractor and general condition payments, and cash reporting. The role acts as a consultant to each Project Manager and internal customers, supporting financial operations and ensuring accurate profitability reporting.

• Perform special project audits and analysis, including cost vs. budget review, billing vs. cost, and tracking projected margin throughout the project duration.
• Assist and coordinate accounting functions with other project offices as needed.
• Coordinate with external auditors on annual and special audit functions related to contracts.
• Utilize Oracle R12 accounting software to perform journal entries, enter budgets, and open new projects.
• Assist in training Oracle system users to Operations staff.
• Provide administrative support for other departments and projects.
• Coordinate with corporate financial and accounting management staff to assure timely and accurate operations between the financial functions.
• Work with Operating Managers monthly to review job status for proper recognition of profit.
• Travel may be required; up to 20% travel expected.
• Take general management direction from the immediate supervisor.

• Associate degree in Finance or Accounting;
  Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of finance or accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
• Experience with Oracle EBS and MS Access is a plus.
• Combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.

• Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Business Suite or other enterprise‑level finance package.
• Understanding and adherence to standard operating policies and procedures.
• Professional appearance and demeanor; perform duties in a professional manner.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Oracle.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adapting to changing priorities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, proactive, and effective team player.
• Professional interaction with all levels of employees, management, vendors, clients, and others.

General work environment involves extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Noise level is typically low to medium; it can be loud on a job site.
