Customer Service Rep, Admin Assistant
Under direct supervision from the Recreation Facilities Supervisor, this position is responsible for providing customer service and enforcing policies as well as a variety of administrative and clerical tasks relating to the Recreation Center. Frequent daily contact with the public and City employees in person and by telephone. First point of contact for people entering the Recreation Center.
Responsibilities- Answer front desk phones and route calls to appropriate parties within department offices; respond to routine inquiries regarding parks, programs and the recreation center.
- Act as first point of contact for visitors to the department; greet department visitors courteously and address routine inquiries, or direct visitors to appropriate personnel. Direct patrons/public to proper personnel for assistance.
- Accept and process membership applications and payment. Assist co-workers with program registration process.
- Perform daily patron equipment check out by procedure.
- Uphold facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Assist with maintaining daily cleanliness of Recreation Center.
- Other duties as assigned by supervision/management.
- Close working situations with the Parks portion of the department.
- Other related or unrelated duties as assigned.

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent, and/or college level courses.
Relatable
Work Experience:
None Required.
Preferred Qualifications: CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications. 1 or more years of customer service experience.
Disclaimer:
Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full‑time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full‑time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months.
One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
Skill in utilizing a personal computer, associated software programs, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to interact in a professional manner with guests and recreation center members.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, as well as strong time and task management skills.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to interact in a professional manner under stressful conditions.
Working proficiency with common office equipment including, multi‑line phone systems, copies, fax machines, and personal computers; working proficiency with software applications, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
Physical and Working ConditionsSubject to sitting and standing to perform essential functions in an indoor/recreational facility.
Visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate office equipment.
Varying hours, may include early morning, evening and weekend hours (Position designed to work 19 hours or less per week).
Exposure to large crowds and noises.
Frequent reaching, stooping, bending and traveling between offices.
Constant viewing of computer screen.
Repetitive hand and wrist movements.
Occasionally lifting, pushing, pulling, and dragging boxes and equipment up to 35 lbs.
