Austin Achieve Public Schools is a tuition-free, open-enrollment public charter school preparing Austin youth to attend and excel at top universities.
The School Operations Associate (SOA) is a critical member of the campus operations team, serving as a primary support for the Assistant Principal of Operations (APO) in executing campus-level operational needs. The SOA plays a dual role: providing high-level administrative and logistical support for school-wide systems while serving as the primary back-up for the Front Office. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can transition seamlessly between student-facing interactions and behind-the-scenes operational planning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Campus Operations & Event Support :
Directly supports the APO in the planning and execution of school events and whole-school activities, including Picture Day and other campus milestones - Health & Student Services :
Coordinates and facilitates annual vision and hearing screenings; manages the scholar clinic, providing basic first aid and medical assistance - Safety & Compliance :
Oversees the execution and documentation of mandatory emergency drills - Assessment Logistics :
Assists in the coordination and preparation for school-wide student assessments - Purchasing & Inventory :
Manages campus supplies inventory and submits all Front Office purchase requests, ensuring the campus is stocked with office supplies, clinic needs, and copy paper - Front Office Back-up :
Functions as the primary back-up for the Receptionist team, providing coverage for the front desk and phones during busy periods, lunch breaks, or staff absences - Relationship Building :
Maintains a welcoming office environment and facilitates professional communication between families, teachers, and school leadership - Other duties as assigned
- Spanish/English bilingual fluency recommended
- Excellent communication skills and customer service mindset
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Doc, Sheets, Slides)
- Experience working in an education setting is a plus

- Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems proactively
- Relentless attention to detail and organizational excellence
- Desire to learn continuously and implement feedback to increase effectiveness
- Frequent movement and standing throughout the campus, with the flexibility to sit for extended periods during heavy administrative days or when providing front office backup
- Reaching, stooping, and bending occasionally to access files, supplies, or equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly, and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Demonstrate fine motor skills for activities like writing, cutting, and using technology.
- Maintain energy and stamina to engage actively with scholars throughout the day.
- Respond quickly to the physical needs of children in a classroom or outdoor setting.
- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- This job can only be performed in person and is not eligible for remote or off-site work.
