The Category Manager develops and implements procurement strategies for critical equipment, gear, commodities, lighting and other spend categories aligned with project objectives for cost, quality and schedule. Experience in electrical construction—switch gear, generators, transformers, UPS—is essential.

• Pursue defined Category Management strategies to ensure competitive advantage and position Rosendin as a market leader.
• Incorporate business requirements into sourcing plans, RFPs and category strategies.
• Gather, interpret and use complex data to develop actionable steps that improve processes and optimize results.
• Oversee the development and delivery of effective negotiation and contracting strategies for strategic suppliers.
• Develop comprehensive implementation plans to execute category strategies with stakeholders and end users.
• Negotiate and review NDAs, contracts and agreements with key vendors.
• Lead change management efforts at senior management levels and contribute to company growth through innovation strategies.

• 7‑10 years’ experience in procurement, contract management, project management or related role.
• Expertise in procurement, estimating, business and leadership.
• Demonstrated experience developing category strategies and negotiating contracts.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross‑functional teams and creating project plans.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Self‑motivated, driven to succeed and able to think and communicate in terms of process flow.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Management, Operations, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ electrical construction procurement or sales experience.
• Preferred:
  Experience at a Switchgear Electrical manufacturer and distributor doing takeoffs and quotes.
• Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management (CPSM) preferred.

• Thorough knowledge of switch gear, transformers, generators, UPS, ATS, PDU and STS.
• Experience developing category strategies, negotiation plans and external market analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience reading single‑line diagrams and producing bills of goods takeoffs.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

• Up to 10%

• General work environment – sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Indoors with fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
• Noise level usually low to medium; can be loud on a jobsite.
• Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
