Senior Director of Pre-Construction

The Senior Director of Pre-Construction is responsible for supporting estimating and pre-construction services across multiple subregions, developing new business opportunities with both new and existing customers, and managing a group of Chief Estimators and Directors of Pre-Construction.

• Implement strategies to drive growth, improve efficiency, maximize overall performance, and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
• Oversee project execution, ensuring timely delivery, resource allocation, and effective coordination among team members.
• Understand the company’s philosophy, systems, objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Maintain liaison with prime clients and architects/engineers to facilitate construction activities.
• Build and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders, foster collaboration, and represent the organization at various meetings.
• Supervise the preparation of all pricing quotations for presentation to the prime customer.
• Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company’s interests and maintain good client relationships.
• Provide management, direction, and guidance to subregions for estimating and pre‑construction services.
• Maintain a historical database of estimates for metric analysis, ensuring continuous improvement.
• Perform conceptual estimates and possess a deep understanding of design‑build projects.
• Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives.

• Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods.
• Excellent communication skills with owners, architects, and designers.
• Thorough understanding of design‑build, design‑assist, IPD, Lean, and LEED projects.
• Self‑starter who makes independent decisions that greatly affect profitability.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and computer use.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities with a positive attitude.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently and in a team.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably with an electrical contractor.
• Combination of education, training, and relevant experience considered.

General work environment involves sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending. Work is primarily indoors with fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Noise level is usually low to medium, but can be loud on the job site. Occasional lifting of up to 30lbs.
