BASIS Ed seeks full-time College Counselors who will be responsible for:

• Teaching a daily college counseling workshop to 12th graders.
• Completing college counseling reports.
• Serving as the Senior Research Project (SRP) coordinator.
• Organizing college admissions visits each fall.
• Conducting family college counseling evenings.
• Meeting one-on-one with 9th and 10th graders during the academic year.
• Instructing students on completing college admissions applications and financial aid applications and obtaining recommendations.
• Developing new program ideas and co-leading college information evening sessions.
• Developing and maintaining college planning and career assessment and readiness software such as Naviance.

• Eligible for hire in Texas Public Schools.
• A Bachelor's degree.
• A Master's degree is preferred.

• Together with a high level of educational attainment, a successful applicant will demonstrate strong communication skills in speaking with parents and students; editing essays, and writing letters of recommendation.
• Critically, an applicant must possess a high GPA in his/her major, excellent employment recommendations, and experience working with students and parents.
