The Goddard School located in Pflugerville is looking for an energetic Office Assistant for summer to join our front‑office team.
What We Offer- No evenings or weekends, except for monthly faculty meetings and occasional school events
- Competitive pay ($15-16/hr) depending on experience and qualifications
- Comprehensive health care benefits (medical, dental, and vision), at least 30 hours per week of work commitment required
- Prioritized focus on your professional development - including Child Development Associate and support to pursue Associates or Bachelors degrees
- Paid training opportunities to meet annual training hours requirement
- Prior childcare experience at a licensed childcare center highly preferred
- High school diploma required
- Pleasant disposition and excellent "phone personality"
- Prior office/classroom experience at a licensed childcare center is definitely a plus
- A valid CPR/First-aid certification required
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) is a must
- Works productively without supervision
- Shows empathy and compassion for young children
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with outstanding ability to listen and follow-up on issues constructively
- Ability to calmly address stressful situations professionally while multi-tasking to ensure smooth school operations
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infant and Young Toddler Teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib
Job Responsibilities
- Answering phone calls and greeting families, staff and visitors
- Paperwork and filing
- Entering children's immunization information into the school management system
- Scheduling meetings for prospective and enrolled families
- Help with marketing - creating flyers and other promotional materials, posting on school's social media accounts
- Substituting in classrooms and giving breaks to teachers as needed
- Helping with kitchen responsibilities
- Inventorying, placing monthly orders and picking up items from stores as needed
- Assist the admin team and the onsite owners with various behind‑the‑scenes tasks
