Job SummaryThe Truss Designer will prepare take-offs for the Residential Estimating & Purchasing department. The position requires interaction with customers, field staff and Project Coordinators. The Estimator reports directly to the Sr. Estimator.
Responsibilities- Prepare framing estimates for Residential projects.
- Review plans and adjust take-offs for scope of work changes.
- Maintain database of construction estimates.
- Analyze material variances.
- Communicate with field personnel.
- Analyze estimating processes.
- Work closely with team to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Extensive knowledge of blueprints.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
- Willingness to learn new software.
- Two years of estimating experience required.
- Understanding of wood construction.
- Experience with Planswift, Blue Beam, or related software.
- Extended periods of time working on a computer.
- Lift up to 15 pounds.
