STAR is partnering with a respected life safety contractor in the Austin market to hire a Fire Alarm Service Manager who can own the service side of the business from dispatch to project closeout. This role is built for someone who understands fire alarm systems inside and out, but also knows how to lead people, manage workflows, and deliver top-tier customer service.
- Oversee daily service operations for fire alarm systems across multiple commercial clients.
- Manage and dispatch service technicians for troubleshooting, inspections, repairs, and emergency calls.
- Ensure timely completion of service tickets, deficiency repairs, and small projects.
- Coordinate and track inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) schedules in compliance with NFPA 72.
- Review and approve service reports, test documentation, and compliance records.
- Act as the main point of contact for customers handling escalations, service requests, and system issues.
- Manage project flow from initial service call through completion and billing.
- Support quoting and scope development for repairs, upgrades, and retrofit projects.
- Monitor team performance, productivity, and quality control across all service work.
- Ensure proper system functionality across major platforms such as:
- Notifier
- Simplex
- Siemens
- EST (Edwards)
- Fire-Lite
- Maintain compliance with AHJ requirements, UL standards, and local fire codes.
- 5+ years of experience in fire alarm service, installation, or project management.
- Previous leadership experience as a Lead Technician, Supervisor, or Service Manager.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, fire alarm system components, and inspection requirements.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and servicing addressable and conventional systems.
- Ability to manage multiple service calls, technicians, and customer accounts simultaneously.
- Experience with service software, scheduling tools, and reporting systems.
- Strong communication skills comfortable working with customers, AHJs, and internal teams.
- NICET Certification (Level II or higher) preferred.
- Texas FAL license preferred.
- $100,000 - $125,000/year (based on experience and certifications).
