Granite Saw Operator

The Granite Saw Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining saws and related machinery used in the cutting and shaping of granite slabs. The role involves precise measurements, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration with other team members to ensure high-quality finished products. This position reports to the Shop Supervisor.

• Operate state of the art BACA Robot saw jet machines to cut granite slabs to specified dimensions.
• Read and interpret job orders, blueprints, or layout plans.
• Measure, mark, and align slabs prior to cutting.
• Inspect raw granite slabs for cracks or defects before cutting.
• Monitor equipment during operation to ensure proper cutting speed, alignment, and blade condition.
• Perform routine maintenance on saw equipment, including blade replacement and cleaning.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Communicate with team members, supervisors, and quality control to ensure work meets standards.
• Fill out job material sheets and use of scanners coming in and out of the saw.

• Exposure to noise, dust, and moving mechanical parts.
• Use of safety equipment such as goggles, gloves, and steel-toed boots is mandatory.
