Job Description & How to Apply Below
CNC Machinist
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to produce complex, high-precision parts. The role supports product development and production for tight-tolerance components particularly in the medical device sector delivering parts that meet GD&T requirements and regulatory documentation standards. The ideal candidate combines hands-on machining expertise with CAM/G-code knowledge and a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC mills, CNC lathes, and multi-axis machines to manufacture complex parts to print
- Translate engineering drawings and CAD/CAM files into reliable G-code programs using CAM software; optimize programs for cycle time and surface finish
- Execute first-article setups, run serial production, and perform in-process adjustments to maintain part accuracy and throughput
- Interpret and apply GD&T callouts, inspect critical dimensions using calipers, micrometers, CMMs, and other metrology tools, and document inspection results
- Collaborate with design and product development teams to prototype and refine part geometry, tooling, and processes
- Troubleshoot machining issues including tool wear, chatter, fixturing, and program logic; implement corrective actions and preventative measures
- Maintain machine tools, fixtures, and tooling; perform routine preventive maintenance and report any equipment issues
- Follow medical device manufacturing requirements and quality procedures, including documentation, traceability, and adherence to cleanroom or controlled-environment protocols when required
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts: suggest and implement process improvements, tooling upgrades, and setup efficiencies
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience operating CNC mills and lathes; experience with multi-axis (3+2 or 5-axis) machines strongly preferred
- Proven ability to program and edit G-code and work with CAM systems (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM or similar)
- Working knowledge of GD&T and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and tolerances
- Experience producing complex parts and supporting product development from prototype to production
- Familiarity with medical device manufacturing practices and quality systems (ISO 13485, FDA QSR) is highly desirable
- Proficient with measurement and inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and CMM operation or setup
- Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail with a commitment to part quality and repeatability
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, quality, and production teams
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical diploma or machining certificate preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., NIMS) a plus
Benefits
- Fully paid health insurance
- Profit-sharing
- Paid Vacation
- Holidays
- 401K Match
