Well Med Medical Group, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Austin Provider Float Team in the South Austin area.
As a member of the Optum Care Delivery team, you will be integral to our vision of making healthcare better for everyone.
Position Highlights:- Practice with a multi‑disciplinary team of healthcare providers
- Model designed to provide the most efficient, comprehensive, and proven care techniques to treat the whole patient—physically, mentally, and socially—at each visit
- “Quality vs. Quantity Model” – Typically see 14 to 16 patients per day
- Patient panel is predominately geriatrics with Medicare Advantage coverage
- Bonus incentives are based on quality metrics
- Base salary plus quality bonus

Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $109,500 to $164,000. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors such as local labor markets, education, work experience, and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role.
Required Qualifications:- Certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Current licensure through the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners or Physician Assistant by the Texas Medical Board
- Valid DEA license or the ability to obtain one prior to employment
- 1+ year of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant
- Comfortable managing a primarily Medicare‑aged patient population
- A working understanding and support of a managed care environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency
