DescriptionJob Summary: Diagnoses, repairs, reconditions, and adjusts key systems and components of trucks and related equipment.
Senior-level position – Generally has more than six years of experience and/or demonstrated job relevant knowledge/skills. A level three technician has a broad knowledge of the field’s standard and technical concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of standard, complex, and technical tasks; is self-starting and requires minimal supervision.
The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis:

Essential Functions:
- Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses complex engine malfunctions and failures with direction and minimum supervision
- Performs detailed engine and related equipment repairs on trucks and trailers with direction and minimum supervision
- Disassembles, inspects, determines parts required, and reassembles to factory specifications within TRGs
- Provides quality control/assurance inspections of completed tasks to include road testing
- Uses computers and related software to assist in diagnosing and reprograming engines
- Completes documentation for service reports, timecards, parts requisition and returns
- Interprets and utilizes information from operating, maintenance, online resources, and service manuals/bulletins
- Operates equipment and vehicles with possession of all necessary licenses and certificates
- Adheres to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations
- Maintains all company equipment, tools, and vehicle in a good, clean, and working order
- Communicates job progress to supervisor and customer as needed
- Works overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs
- Projects professionalism with both internal and external customers, including personal appearance
- Acts as a mentor and coach to lower level Technicians
- Completes all assigned Technician Training Path courses and safety training
- Consistently maintains an average rework of less than 0.5%
- Ensures a positive average variance consistently
- Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to meet all requirements as outlined in Leveling Description Guide to include;
Basic Requirements, Electrical System, Engine Systems, and Rear Differential - Ability to meet all technical and performance requirements for a level one and level two technician
- Extensive knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Expert knowledge and proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and electronic systems diagnostic tooling
- Operation and control skills of vehicle fleet
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Exceptional skills in customer service
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to follow logical troubleshooting procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to operate a conventional forklift
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair & overhead crane
