Service Technician II is responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance on all Material Handling Equipment (MHE), automated systems, and conveyors for Kenco Fleet Services.
Responsibilities- Schedule Planned Maintenance (PM) for all Fleet Services equipment and maintain accurate records of completed PMs.
- Perform corrective repairs and preventive maintenance on MHE, batteries, automated systems, and conveyors in accordance with site and manufacturer standards.
- Communicate regularly with site managers, supervisors, and operations leaders regarding equipment status, service requirements, project timelines, work progress, delays, or obstacles that may impact operations or customer commitments.
- Meet or exceed performance metrics, including service response times, first‑time fix rates, and preventive maintenance completion schedules.
- Manage equipment condition and support repair readiness by reporting damage, coordinating required parts, and maintaining accurate service and inventory records.
- Collaborate with the Parts team to identify parts and supplies needed to maintain equipment.
- Maintain parts inventory and repair records for all equipment by completing accurate paperwork.
- Access and navigate OEM software platforms to perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and equipment programming.
- Use OEM software, service manuals, wiring diagrams, and parts schematics to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and perform required adjustments or replacements.
- Achieve and maintain a minimum of 80% technician efficiency or 100% PM completion monthly by maximizing billable work hours relative to total available work time.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and safety devices to ensure compliance with OSHA, facility, and manufacturer standards.
- Maintain general cleanliness of the service area at all times and conduct thorough monthly inspections of the assigned service vehicle or shop workspace according to company checklist and schedule.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient workspace in the service vehicle or shop area following 5S methodology (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
- Adhere to customer facility‑specific safety requirements, site access protocols, and contractor safety orientation procedures.
- Support the Kenco Operating System by identifying ways to work more safely, efficiently, and effectively, and sharing ideas that help the team and company improve.
- High school diploma, G.E.D., or technical school graduation required.
- 2–4 years of mechanical experience; preferably prior experience with repair and maintenance of material handling equipment, automated systems, and conveyors, or similar equipment.
- Axe Preferred: ASE Certification, Silver or Gold Certification, Electrical journeyman certification, electrical and pneumatic experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems on multiple types of equipment.
- Proficiency using email, work order management software, and mobile applications for daily job functions.
- Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic system schematics.
- Self‑motivated, self‑directed, highly responsible, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Capacity to frequently lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
- Supply own mechanic technician hand tools and ability to safely operate lift trucks.

This position is expected to travel approximately 25% or less. A passport is not required but recommended.
