We are currently looking for an experienced Fire Sprinkler Inspector / Service Technician holding an active RME-I license to join our growing field operations team.
Position SummaryAs a Fire Sprinkler Inspector / Service Technician, you will execute routine inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) services on a wide variety of water-based fire protection systems. You will interact directly with property owners and facility managers, identifying system deficiencies, generating accurate field reports, and performing necessary repairs.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) of wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pump systems in accordance with NFPA 25 and local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) guidelines.
- Tag fire sprinkler systems accurately following State Fire Marshal regulations.
- Diagnose system troubles, identify deficiencies, and perform minor-to-major repairs or upgrades.
- Perform trip testing of dry valves, flow tests, tamper switch testing, and fire pump performance testing.
- Complete digital inspection reports, deficiency logs, and work orders accurately and promptly using company reporting software.
- Communicate clearly with clients, site managers, and local fire marshals regarding system status, required repairs, and code compliance.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service calls as scheduled.
- License:
Active Texas State Fire Marshal RME-I (General Inspector) License (REQUIRED). - Experience:
2+ years of field experience performing inspection, testing, and service on commercial and residential water-based fire protection systems. - Certifications:
NICET Level II in Inspection & Testing of Water-Based Systems (or equivalent test completions for RME-I). - Technical
Skills:
Strong understanding of NFPA 13, NFPA 25, and local fire codes. - Driver's License:
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (must be eligible for company vehicle insurance cover). - Physical Requirements:
Ability to climb ladders, work in elevated or tight spaces, carry up to 50-75 lbs, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. - Soft Skills:
Professional demeanor, excellent verbal/written communication, and self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Additional certifications such as Backflow Assembly Tester (BPAT) or Fire Alarm/Extinguisher licenses.
- Experience operating pipe cutters, threaders, and groovers for on-site repairs.
