Facilities Maintenance Technician I
Perform routine maintenance and repair work on city facilities, ensuring all operations meet safety and quality standards.
Respond to service requests in a timely manner, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact.
Performing various maintenance repairs including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
Work on large-scale maintenance projects as assigned, contributing to the team's efforts to upgrade and maintain facility infrastructure.
Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment necessary for facility maintenance.
Communicating existing and prospective issues with supervisor.
Complete required trainings in timely manner.
Remains accessible via cell phone to address job-related issues or emergencies using City applications.
Other duties as assigned.
Formal
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Relatable

Training, Licenses, and
Certifications:
Valid Class C Texas driver's license.
Skill in utilizing a personal computer, associated software programs, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to establish and maintain professionally effective relationships with external public/vendors, internal management and non-management employees, and City and other government officials.
Ability to develop, implement, and administer goals, objectives, and procedures for providing effective and efficient services for the City.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, as well as strong time and task management skills.
Ability to have attention to detail.
Ability to safely and effectively operate a wide variety of hand, power and shop tools. (Drill, screwdriver, hammer, power saw, etc.)
Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills by identifying and resolving potential problems.
Subject to sitting and standing to perform essential functions in an office and field environment.
Regularly scheduled for 5-day, 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday; overtime occasionally required.
Lifting up to 50 lbs.
Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
Pushing and pulling – as required to operate related tools, equipment and machinery.
Climbing ladders.
