Overview
Role Mission:
The receptionist supports students, families and team members by providing excellent customer service and serving as the first point-of-contact for students, parents, visitors and phone inquiries. The receptionist focuses on ensuring parent satisfaction and meeting families’ needs by sharing information, coordinating with other team members, and greeting all visitors.
Compensation
- Compensation for this role is an hourly rate ranging between $16.26 for 0 years of experience and $20.40
- This role is eligible for a performance bonus based on team performance and goal attainment.

Qualifications:
- Education:
High school diploma or GED - Experience:
One year of clerical experience in an office setting
Knowledge and
Skills:
- Proficient keyboarding skills
- Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow written instructions and operate a multi-line phone system
Manages all front office traffic including late students, parents, and visitors. The receptionist will:
- Ensure each visitor has appropriate credentials to enter the campus and pick up students
- Utilize Power School to locate student schedules for parent pick-ups
- Communicate with teachers on student pick-ups
- Direct visitors to the appropriate team member
- Direct late students to the SIS Coordinator
Maintains copies of forms, events, and related information for the campus site and IDEA Public Schools. This includes:
- Organizing essential forms and documents for families including FARM applications, uniform guides, and applications in a binder or portfolio
- Copying materials to ensure a steady supply of documents
- Communicating effectively with Campus Lead Team and Campus Ops team to keep documents current
Coordinates and transfers student records to the appropriate team member. This includes:
- Maintaining confidentiality of records as appropriate
- Collaborating with team members to establish a system for transferring student records
Answers phone calls by providing general information and connecting calls to appropriate team members. This includes:
- Familiarizing with roles and duties of team members (e.g., SIS manages schedule changes, APO handles absence inquiries)
- Managing a list of extensions and keeping it updated
Serves as a liaison between parents, students and team members. This includes:
- Communicating morning announcements to students and team members
- Exemplifying core values and exemplar customer service
- Provides lead team support as needed, including:
- Recruiting students for the following school year if needed
- Exercising good judgment and delivering excellent customer service
- Answering all phone calls
- Greeting parents, students, and visitors
