As a Full-Time Laborer at the City of Pharr Bridge, you'll work under the direct supervision of the Bridge Assistant Director, performing essential custodial and landscaping duties at the Pharr International Bridge Building. Your responsibilities will include maintaining clean and safe environments by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming floors, as well as servicing and restocking restrooms to ensure they meet high standards of cleanliness.

Additionally, you'll gather and dispose of trash, clean and polish furniture and fixtures, and perform minor adjustments and repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems. This role is pivotal in enhancing the overall appearance and functionality of the bridge facility, contributing to a better experience for both employees and visitors.

To excel as a Full-Time Laborer at the City of Pharr Bridge, you must possess a strong understanding of various machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repairs, and maintenance. A solid grasp of the chemical composition and properties of substances relevant to custodial and landscaping tasks is essential, as it includes knowledge of chemical interactions, safety precautions, and proper disposal methods.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• Knowledge of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
• Skill in performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
