Job Description

Substitute Security Guard

Reports to: Director of Security

Department: Security

Pay Grade: $11.50/Hour @ 28hrs./week

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • High school diploma or GED in English
  • Texas Certified Basic Training for Security Guard Officers (Level II Required and Level III Preferred)
  • Texas Certified Police Officer/DPS Certificate or Pre‑Service Correctional Officer’s Certificate

Special Knowledge/

Skills:

  • Must pass annual testing of Texas Cert. Basic Training for Security Guard Officers
  • Must comply with District Security Guard Dress Code
  • Must comply and pass random drug testing
  • Be at least five years older than the average high school seniors
  • Able to work with campus administrators, staff, and students, treating them courteously and fairly
  • Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities

Experience:

  • To assist in a supervisor capacity in the provisions for the security and protection of all students, staff, and property
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Trustees may find appropriate and acceptable
