Prevention Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Prevention Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will plan and deliver engaging educational sessions for youth focused on substance misuse prevention, healthy decision-making, and life skills development. You will also provide prevention education and outreach to the broader community by facilitating presentations and awareness initiatives that promote health, safety, and well-being.

• Conducts prevention education/skills training strategy by implementing the assigned curriculum at designated school sites and/or community sites as indicated by the curriculum developers.
• Provide problem identification and referrals to other support services to youth participating in curriculum services.
• Conducts information dissemination strategy by increasing knowledge and changing attitudes through engaging presentations for youth and adults.
• Ability to network with diverse community partners.
• Conducts positive alternatives in the form of fun, challenging, and structured activities to foster constructive and healthy ways to enjoy free time and learn skills among community of service.

• Bachelor's degree in psychology/Sociology or equivalent.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of participants/professionals in English and Spanish.
• Some travel required within service area and must have current TX driver’s license with current liability insurance
